This unique volume compiles in one place a history of US intervention against Iraq and the devastating consequences for the people and the region. It shows the ways in which war today is a continuation of that history, but also a radical leap to more direct military control in Iraq and around the world. The “Bush Doctrine” is both built on our imperial history and yet new and far more dangerous.Everest's bio is also on the site:
Larry Everest has covered the Middle East and Central Asia for over 20 years for the Revolutionary Worker newspaper and other publications. He traveled to Iran in 1979 and again in 1980, shortly after the revolution that toppled the Shah. During both visits, he traveled to Iranian Kurdistan, and in 1980 was able to interview Islamic militants then holding the U.S. Embassy.
