peacewire.org
As one directory described it, this canadian site provided "news and useful links." Several sites re-used images of the nuclear aftermath in Hiroshima that were hosted by the site. This brief description of the project was found on another canadian server:
It is hoped that Peacewire will provide useful and empowering information on peace and disarmament issues in Canada. Peacewire was launched in August of 1995 as part of events marking the 50th Anniversary of the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Working for peace requires everyone doing their part. You can't just read about peace, you have to ... Do something! End the Arms Race believes every effort must be made to save our planet and that effort starts with each of us:
  1. Inform yourself of the costs of producing weapons at the expense of human needs and the dangerous of nuclear weapons.
  2. Volunteer your time with End the Arms Race or your local peace group.
  3. Write to your local, provincial and federal representative with your views on making Canada a more peaceful nation.
  4. Send a letter to your local or national media.
  5. Give a donation to End the Arms Race or become a Partner in Peace by making regular monthly contributions.
