This site promoted a "coalition based" campaign for a "New Approach to Security." This "Better Path" argued that to prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction and their possible use by terrorists or others, the United States should do more to prevent proliferation, theft, or lost of control. Specifically, the group advocated the following:
- Take the lead in supporting nuclear arms control and disarmament
- Stop threatening "first use" of nuclear weapons
- Conclude a new treaty to secure and reduce fissile material worldwide
- Strengthen existing bans on chemical and biological weapons by supporting effective verification and working for universal adherence
- Support the rule of law and abide by our treaty commitments
- Promote sustainable, equitable development in all parts of the world
- Work with other countries to resolve regional conflicts and build cooperative regional security systems like the OSCE
